Wow! We have been running non-stop the last couple of weeks and it feels so good.
Big love to all who have helped us out along the way, Nickodemus and Nappy G. from Turntables on the Hudson.
Thomas Blondet from Eighteenth Street Lounge who by the way will be making his Afrolicious debut @ the Elbo Room Otober 28th to celebrate his new release on Rhythm & Culture records. Also big love to Joegh Bullock from Anon Salon and Campos Santos for helping to make our Burning Man experience so pleasure able :-) Guest DJ's Dunkelbunt and Santero tore it up last week at Afrolicious. And big love to our friend Martin, AKA DJ Dragonfly for bringing us out to the Dome @ Earthdance!!!
This week we go big yet again featuring a longtime favorite of Afrolicious, Afrodisiac Soundsystem is in the spot this Thursday. They have been putting out killer mash ups of Fela, Tony Allen, and other Afro-Beat artists for many years now and providing us and other DJ's choice material for the dance floor.
From SF to Black Rock City, back to SF, to NYC-DC-NYC, Oakland, SF, Laytonville, and back to SF now it has been too much fun with all you friends new and old. Great to kick it with the dancers, dj's, musicians, music critics, and bartenders. Not to mention the doctors, lawyers, dealers, and hustlers!!!!! Afrolicious rides on baby..
A new album by Pleasuremaker is very close to being available and Afrolicious is working on it's first original release to come out in early 2011. Stay tuned for more recordings, photos and videos!!!! Also if you have any photos of Afrolicious events please e-mail us. afroliciousoriginal@gmail.com Thanks!
Please check in to our Soundcloud page for some recent live recordings of Afrolicious from this summer.
