Yes yes ya'll very excited to have Adrian Younge and the Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra up from LA to play a special live set this Thursday at the Afrolicious party. We got to hear the band in Austin at SXSW this year and it was truly a funky & visceral performance. Check out the original score they did for the 2009 Neo-Faux-Blacksploitation film Black Dynamite on Wax Poetics Records. The band hits at 11pm. San Francisco's own DJ Freddy Anzures will be opening up the night, do yourself a favor and familiarize yourself with his site Props, anytime you need some inspiration check his radio shows and dope graphics for tasty freshness! We also have some free soundtrack cds to giveaway for early arrivals, this one is gonna be a special night, come early stay late!!!!!!

First of all thank you so much for coming out to the 3 year anniversary celebration of Afrolicious everyone, it was so much fun.

It's crazy how much Cumbia is blowin' up these days. I aint gonna say I've been a Cumbia aficionado forever, but I did get turned on to this beautiful music almost ten years ago and it is interesting to see how much it has blown up in the last couple years.

Okay so diggin' thru this great blog, Generation Bass, I found some seriously nasty electro cumbia, just the way I like it. It's got the old school Colombiano flava, plus modern production. That's all I need, I'm sold. I'm looking for more tasteful music like this. The producer is a cat called Gayo Negro, don't know much about him except that his production is killin'!!!
